The PINK Bridal Shower

I jumped at the opportunity to plan my sisters bridal shower, and believe me when I say, this was no easy task because she is so shy when it comes to anything even slightly on the naughty side.

I thought about how I could make her day special, with something she would love, enjoy and be comfortable with. It's always important to know and understand the bride’s likes and dislikes, and at the same time find a nice way to get them out of their shell if they are shy(at least for those few hours).

The shower was a surprise for her, and she had no idea when it was or where it will be and what would happen. We only told her about it not long before she had to get ready to go to the venue.
I came up with a simple theme - the colour PINK. Everyone could work with the colour in what they wore and in the gifts they gave the bride. I used a complex clubhouse and decorated it with balloons and pink serviettes. I had a pink cocktail made for the guests to enjoy and the pretty pink drink kept to the theme wonderfully. There was an assortment of delicious snacks laid out for the guests to enjoy during the event.

There was an area set up with pillows and a sash where the guest of honour (my sister) would be sitting. I’d set up a table next to her with some snacks and gifts, and of course a HUGE glass of her drink with a naughty straw - this was hilarious to watch every time she took a sip!
When she arrived at the clubhouse, she greeted all her guests, but was promptly kidnapped by myself. I took her into the ladies room, blindfolded and proceeded (with great difficulty) to dress her up in the naughty nurse outfit I had got for her to wear at the shower. When we got back to the room where the shower was being held,  I took off the blindfold so she could see what she was wearing. She took her place on the special seat made for her, and next to it was a white case with a red cross sign on it .... A special gift from me to go with the nurses outfit. A first aid kit for the bedroom!

Games were planned for the bride and her guests, and it really helped to make this a most fun-filled event. Guests were made to feel special and welcomed and well, as I made sure we had wonderful little prizes for the winners. Almost everyone went home with a lovely little trinket of sorts that day.

Because my sister is a bit of a prude at heart, I knew that the one thing I could not do, was get a stripper. So instead I hired a lap dance coach to teach the bride-to-be and the guests how to lap dance. This was quite a work out but all the girls enjoyed it and so did my sister which was great.
Once all the activities were done for the day, lunch was served – catered by a good family friend. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent relaxing with good friends and discussing the upcoming nuptials.
It turned out to be a wonderful day with amazing people, and I would do it all again for the greatest sister in the world. It was so much fun planning, and the greatest part of the day for me was that my sister enjoyed every moment of it, okay so maybe not the nurses outfit so much -  but definitely the rest of it.
